(14-18 may 2007)
5 days of fun, laughter and much much more with elly and cheryl

DAY ONE
the first day started off with the 3 of us meeting up at Changi Airport Terminal 2 Pacific Coffee Company (PCC) at around past 12am. since we have to check in at around 4.30am at Terminal 1, we might as well stay over at the airport... and so, it seemed like hours as we waited and waited and waited...

what?

shady

wassup cheryl?

gotta fatten up before the flight...

soon, it was almost time and we wanted to take a skytrain to Terminal 1 but realised that it doesn't operate from 1-6am. thankfully, a female came towards us and told us that she's a bus driver meant to fetch us to Terminal 1! WOW! before the trip, i prayed to God that he will take good care of us and keep us safe on this trip, and this was his first miracle to me (: finally after arriving at Terminal 1 and checking in our luggage, we still had to WAIT... and there was a sudden influx of SNOOPYS (codename. ask me if you wanna know.) argh! we dun really like SNOOPYS!

finally,
WE'RE OFF!
(photo taken by me!)

after a few hours of sleep and waking up with stiff necks...
WE ARRIVED IN HK!

the three-o

we met Oscar! well, he's the man at the ticketing booth where we needed to get our Airport Express cum Octopus cards. he looked a little like Aaron Kwok! wahahaha! elly likes him. after making our way to our hotel, BP International Hotel, we put our stuff in our room and headed straight for a good place to eat! we need food! elly recommended Xiao Fei Yang @ Kimberly Street, Tsim Sha Tsui... Dim Sum Buffet HK$40 (S$8) 2-4pm! we rushed there immediately!

we ordered, and ordered, and ordered...

... and ate, and ate, and ate.

Temple Street Market

Mido Cafe
famous for local delights!
looks totally old, traditional and... local

Day One was spent walking around Tsim Sha Tsui and Jordan & Temple Street Market (: got to drink their famous Mango whatever drink there! nice, very nice. oh! and we met.... Thomas. Thomas is the front-desk manager at the hotel. he is middle-aged, seemingly married, average-looking but he provides excellent service and helped us with our reservation and site-seeing needs! speaking good English was a perk! and so... we gave him a nickname: Nanny. Thomas rocks!

DAY TWO
in the morning, we made our way to Central and had breakfast at a dim sum place with 70 yrs of reknown history... Lin Heung Tea House! the food is really zhen zhong and cheap!we spent the whole day and afternoon at Ocean Park!!!! i sat most of the thrill rides and the 3 of us tried our luck at some game booths.... i only won this ugly hei zhi ma toufu (black sesame toufu) soft toy... and it's purple... weird and disgusting! but we enjoyed ourselves most when we visited the sealions and their "underwater world".

(since i'm waiting for some pictures from elly and cheryl, the OCEAN PARK QUIZ will be uploaded onto this entry at a later time)

after a long day at Ocean Park, we took a long bus ride back to Admiralty station and decided to go to the nearest place to chill and grab a drink as we were all tired, perspiring from the summer heat and very very thirsty as we did not carry any water there.... Admitalty Macs was where i was glad to see this really cute guy! almost the guy of my dreams. boyish grin, baby face, mischievous twinkle in his eyes and a nice cap. somehow the lady at the counter just couldn't understand my order even though i've pointed out the picture and so the guy stepped in to help me. but i got a feeling he'd end of being with a lian-ish girl. whatever.

ok we were so lazy and tired that we napped in the hotel until we decided to go out again. at night, we went to Lan Kwai Fong (their supposed Club Street). was kinda in for a disappointment actually... but we got to know some friendly people.

we took very long to decide which bar to go into cuz all of them didn't seem quite entertaining. in the end i chose Club97. there, we met a pretty waitress named Pramita whom i feel resembled May and Choy. she was a new staff so we took quite some time ordering...

me: what's the difference between O**** Silver and O**** Gold? ( i was ordering some Tequila)
pramita: i'm not sure. let me check that for you.
pramita: oh, the O*** Silver is Silver and the other one is Gold.
me: you mean the colour?
pramita: hahha yah.

me, elly, cheryl (:

she's so nice and she kept asking us if we were enjoying ourselves and she told the DJ to turn up the music and play nicer songs for us. so sweet! the club's choice of songs were hip-hop/rnb. however, the dj had a knack for playing the song for too long a time and his sequencing isn't very good. elly and i had to dedicate certain songs to get the people to move their asses to the dancefloor. finally everything kicked in!

this is sara. i think she's from nepal. i met her when i saw her alone when she just entered the club/bar and she looked pretty lost. so i went up to her and introduced elly and myself and we got to know her! she's a really sweet girl and kept calling me cute as if that's my name. at one point when we were at another part of the street, i thought i lost elly and cheryl and my phone batt died. she was willing to accompany me until they return. actually, the club wasn't all clean... we had frightening experiences with strangers and thank God he really protected all of us from up there. we managed to catch the last train and we went back to the hotel and all our stuff stinks!

DAY THREE
Day Three was spent in Wan Chai & Causeway Bay areas. first stop was their famous wanton/dumpling noodle shop which we researched on, Wing Wah Noodle Shop.

we then spent the time on Spring Garden Lane which is a Street Market. in the afternoon, we went to eat desserts and this is one of the recommended places for local desserts with a great variety of creative ones to choose from...

we bought traditional tidbits @ Central from this lao zi hao: Chan Yee Jai

Mong Kok

Ladies Street Market

after a day long of eating and street marketing, we went back to the hotel tired as usual. elly then asked me to accompany her to the 7-11 opposite the hotel to get some snacks. i needed to buy some food and drinks too so i went with her. imagine both of us in home tees and AJ's PE shorts and slippers! hahahah! we went to 7-11 and i saw this nerdy-looking guy at the counter. but he was an attractive nerd... but i still disliked his thick black framed glasses.

elly: what do you think of that guy at the counter?
me: i think he has the potential to look better.

hahahhahahha

DAY FOUR

Day Four... elly and cheryl shopped like crazy! hahaha! i didnt see anything i liked. they splurged at Mong Kok's Esprit store which was 3 levels high.

elly ever commented that the ratio of pretty girls to handsome guys in HK was like 50:1 somehow, all the good-looking guys became actors and the rest are left to the streets. we can only oggle at their actors through posters like the one above... but WHERE ARE THEY???

Edison Chen!
URGH! ONLY ON POSTER!

chilling is a must!
HK PCC

for the best Lao Po Bing (:

we went to their "far east" - King Wah Shopping Mall @ Mong Kok but i was thoroughly disappointed ): but we met 2 pretty and funny salesgirls in this shop.

salesgirl1: my english isn't very good. my chinese isn't good also. are you all from other countries?
we: we 're from singapore. it's ok, we understand you.
cheryl wanted to buy a nice purple purse. and i wanted to try out cantonese
me: hou lang (beautiful) ( i was referring to the purse).
salesgirl2: thanked me profusely
me: i mean the purse...
salesgirls: *laughed uncontrollably* the girl thought i was referring to her.
but since both of them are pretty and cute, i called them "lang loi" (pretty girls)
LESSON LEARNT: i should never speak dialect :P

at night, we shopped along Granville Road, Tsim Sha Tsui.

we came across this...
ACS PE/house t-shirt
HK$19 (S$3.80)

wahahahahhhahahahahaha :D

then, HORRORS OF ALL HORRORS! elly and i found out how broke broke broke broke we are! i was left with HK$40 while elly had HK$80 left. i couldnt change money cuz the exchange rate was very very very bad there. we realised how poor we were that we began to suck up to cheryl with all kinds of methods and crapping nonsense. we regretted bullying her throughout the trip. hahhahahha we were both so upset that we didn't even wanna go anywhere for dinner. we just wanted to purchase instant noodles (2 for HK$10) at our 7-11... elly and i even shared ten curry fishballs and didn't want to waste a single drop of sauce! hahahahah!

just then, i noticed the nerdy guy from last night.
he was so not nerdy! he somehow didn't wear
his glasses that night. i think he wore contacts.
and he was so so so so so CUTE!
the WHOLE package!
my ideal guy standing in front of me
i almost fainted and died.

my only source of survival

since we had to leave... duh.
we thought of giving Thomas a little
token of appreciation from us.
we saw this towel of the cartoon train engine
at one of the Street Markets...

he got a shock when we gave this to him.
HAHAHAHAHA!

DAY FIVE
we had to reach the airport early... after giving Thomas our gift which he was totally stunned when he saw it, we rushed to catch our shuttle bus to the airport. we ate their Ajisen which was really better than S'pore's. as we waited to board the plane, elly and i went to the bathroom. as we were done, elly was washing her hands when the SNOOPY beside her screamed, "si le! si le! mei you shui! (die! die! there's no more water!)" apparently, the sensor could not sense the presence of her hands and she panicked! hahahaah elly couldn't stop laughing. then her sensor couldnt sense hers. and the woman panicked again until water came out! (there were 10 other sinks around her) elly said she was the funniest SNOOPY on our trip. then there was a bunch of SNOOPYs wearing yellow caps lining up to board the plane. elly said, "don't rush, let the ducklings go first!" wahahahhaah (: oh, elly!

and so ends our fantastic trip to HK.... pretty short but worthwhile (:
thank you ELLY AND CHERYL for showing me a wonderful and hilarious time there!
LOVE YOU ALL!
Thomas will always remember us.... haha! :D
